Bridger had the opportunity to be Baptized on his Birthday. This isn't an option for everyone. He had so many people come to support him. It was a great day.
Having his Daddy Baptize him was special. Before he was Baptized, he learned about Covenants, he learned that it's a promise between God and him, he learned that he will need to Remember Christ daily, and he also learned about the gift that he was given. After he was Baptized he was given the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Such an amazing thing a child can do. Such an amazing thing Bridger could do!
It was so nice to be home and have so many family members support his decision.
He was so excited all morning long. When it was finally his turn, he was a champ. After he was "dunked" he said climbing up the stairs, "I wanna do a Cannon Bomb before we get out"
Holding him down to get a picture was next to impossible. Actually, it wasn't, I think he liked the attention.
The Stake Presidency asked Grandma Virginia to speak for a minute to Bridger and the little girl that was being Baptized too, about their choice to get Baptized. She did great.
It was nice to have family here. Grandma and Grandpa Lyman came, even though their dog was getting old and needed to be on medication, and Grandpa wasn't doing well. It was nice to have family close.
Having cousins here was also fun. Katie, Sophie and Paige came with Aunt Christy. We only wish that Uncle Roger could have come too. We're glad they came.
We also had friends come. Some of the only friends that have been in our lives since the time Bridger was a baby. It's funny to think that Adam, and Bridger used to get into trouble together all the time. In fact a lot of the stories and things are on this blog. We are so glad that they came.
Having all of the kids together was also a great thing.
Jakes Aunt's came also. The benefit of being closer is that having the Lyman's side of the family is much easier.
Our Primary President Sister Carlson who is also my Visiting Teacher came. Shelease Raty and her mom Hidi Borup came. They are the closest friends we have in the Alameda 8th Ward. They are moving to Utah soon. Brother Trent Holt is our Home Teacher. His Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Brother and Sister Dispain came. Sister Dispain is Bridgers Primary teacher. Bishop Parkin came too. It was nice to have a good turn out from members of our ward.
Bridger was confirmed a member of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost after he was Baptized. It was neat to have him experience this wish so much family here to support his decision.
