Our Summer Fest

Living in Orem we had our Summer Festival this weekend. We went to some friends of ours for a get-together. We spent some time at the park and rode rides, walked the vendors and saw some pretty cool cars at the car show. I should actually specify that. Jake and the kids did all this. I stayed in the front yard of our friends and just visited with them on the old front swing. Before the parade started, we ate dinner in the front yard. We had lots of salads, BBQ pulled pork, and BBQ pulled chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and watermelon. Some of us went to the parade at the end of the street, others just hung out and played catch in the back yard. We let the kids play in the water, and have ice cream cones. Our friends the Redford's had a little fish for a child, named Aubrey. She even sat in the cold water and ate her ice cream, she was shivering so hard. She ended up climbing out to eat it. The way she sat in the water you'd thought that it was warm like a hot tub or something. In all actuality the water was ice cold. After the parade while we waited for the fireworks we watched Transformers in the front yard. We had some awesome sound. We attracted so many people walking by. It was way cool. We paused the movie of course when the fireworks started. They were alright this year. I didn't see the fireworks that were my favorite. But that's ok, it was memorable either way. Ember watched for the 1st time without covering her ears. She actually liked it this year. Bridger sat on Jake's lap the entire time. Kurt just layed on the lawn with his blanket and pillow like he does every year, and just enjoyed in silence. Austin was right next to me, figuring out which one was his favorite. Every time his favorite would come up, you'd hear a ewww, or an ahhhhh, from him. He's always enjoyed the fireworks. We are blessed to have such great friends, We have great ones that live close, and the ones that have moved are still close to us. We feel anyways. I enjoy the friendships that we've gained since we've been married.
