Moving
I couldn't list much about us leaving until things were private and final.
Financially we have been hurting for some time now. Christmas was extremely difficult for us this year. We were sick of asking for help from our parents, and sick of depending on others to help us out all the time. We prayed about opportunities that could come our way, that would help us become more self reliant. In the fall of 08 we inquired about moving to Oklahoma, we also looked into moving to Ogden, Utah. In January we put in a job application to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer, Alaska. Jake has a friend there that we used to paintball with. He was also my teacher at American Institute where I got my Surgical Tech diploma in 2003. We had gone to the temple to pray about our options, I just prayed that we would both get the same answer, and we most certainly got an answer.....NOTHING!! LOL, literally Jake and I both came out spiritually uplifted but no answer what so ever on what we were going to do. Go to Alaska or search for a new job in Utah.
A small bump in the road happened at the end of January. Kurt and Austin had been burned a few times by Eddie and was begging to leave somewhere else. They were both sick of the game that was being played(having there dad forget to come and get them on his weekends, and making excuses why he didn't come) Kurt had been acting out a lot at this point. He back talked Jake for the last time, Jake slapped Kurtis' mouth and Kurt ran to Eddie's and exajerated his story. Jake ended up being treated as if he just beat his wife intstead of disciplining my son. Long story short we had a few court dates and Alaska was definately put on hold for a bit. They(Mat-Su) would call us on a regular basis trying to find out where we were at in the game. They were excited to be able to have Jake work there. We were offered $8 more an hour, and a $15k sign on bonus. It was hard to sit and not be able to do much because of the court dates that were upcoming.
We hired an awesome attorney that gave Jake some things to do so that the Judge would dismiss this rediculous acusation being placed on Jake. His last court date was April 27th the weekend right before this I had the oportunity to spend some time at the temple with some close friends. While we spent some QT praying about the things upcoming, I prayed that whatever was suppose to happen with our future, let it happen and let us both feel peace with whatever we were suppose to do.
We went to the court date on the 27th and everthing was dismissed, the next day or so Mat-Su Called I let them know that all was dismissed and everything from there just flew really fast. We were able to find a place here in Alaska with no problems, packing, selling, and everything else has truely fallen into place.
The biggest thing that has fallen into place was our Adoption and Temple Sealing the day before we left. We talked initally about leaving the 27th of May, then we moved it to the 22nd, then We got a call from our other Attorney with a court date of the 26th We took it, made an appointment with the temple. This will all be on another blog :) But that was an example of things that were put into place for us. We were forced to go back to our original date to leave. Kind of wierd how it all worked out.
The moving company showed up in Orem early morning on the 18th of May. This would be the beginning of the last 3 weeks :)
