Learning about these bearded dragons are interesting. They bob their heads they darken their beards, they can even wave with their whole arms.
They do this as a passive submission to a larger bearded dragon. Males will bob their heads for dominance, or for a mating ritual.

I learned at the Bean museum yesterday that when a lizard loses it's tail then it grows back different, so maybe that's why your lizard looks like it's tail belongs to a different body.
