Box Trolls

This week we called in sick once (yes you can do that in home-school). We are excited about things like randomness of  no planning. That is where Sunday's come in. Today we had a lot of randomness. We broke the rules and let the kids play with their friends outside and we sent the kids to bed earlier than normal, normal is sending the kids to bed after 10pm. Yes you can do that too when you home-school. Because we sleep in until around 1oam. We also discovered that making box trolls is fun. I wasn't sure what a box troll was exactly until Bridger wanted to make one. I had to google it before I started my blog tonight. For anyone that doesn't know, it's a movie that is coming out. Bridger was on a mission tonight to make his own box troll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9-Df4ITW7o
So Bridger started going around the house to find things that could work as arms and legs and a head. Things that he could draw on the front of his box troll to help his box troll identify who he was. Meet Phone Booth, Bridger's Box Troll.
It was fun to watch them get creative. Having black duct tape was something that was strong and could hold anything they wanted onto their box. Yarn for hair, shish-ka-bob sticks for legs and milk carton handles for tiny arms.
Theron's was Baby Box, it is suppose to be a baby with baby arms and baby legs. He's a ginger apparently. Green yarn wasn't acceptable because as Theron says, "no baby comes out with green hair mom".

EmberLee's Box troll is named Beauty Box. These kids didn't have much to work with, but sure had fun whipping these together. I'm glad that they found something to do that didn't require me entertaining them.
